All things Japanese comes to WA’s South West during the next fortnight.

The popular Japan Festival starts this Monday with plenty of Japanese food, cultural events, and free entertainment in Bunbury, Busselton, Dunsborough, Margaret River, and Harvey.

The Festival, which runs until Sunday, September 21, celebrates the South West centres’ affiliations with their sister cities in Japan with an array of Japanese-themed events and activities for the whole family.

Australia’s property values are growing at their fastest rate in more than a year, according to new figures from property research firm Cotality (formerly known as CoreLogic).

Home values in August rose for the seventh consecutive month - up 0.7% - the strongest monthly gain since May last year.

Brisbane (up 1.2%), Perth (up 1.1%), and Adelaide (up 0.9%) led the growth trend last month as cuts in official interest rates hit a housing market struggling from a lack of supply.

Cotality says although the volume of property sales has risen by an estimated 2% over the past 12 months, advertised listings are about 20% down on average for this time of year.

Slick racing machines pounding around the circuit in a test of engineering skill and human endurance. No, it's not the Bathurst 1000 supercars, it's the National Pedal Prix being held in Busselton this Sunday.

The Pedal Prix has been described as the V8 supercars of cycling. Over 50 human-powered vehicle racing teams from interstate and WA are competing this year with the aim of finishing more laps around the Busselton Foreshore circuit than other competitors during Sunday’s six-hour event.
