Ian and Lewis recently attended an auction in Gleneagles, run by Frank Walmsley, which served as a good reminder of how much pressure can build on the day.
Only a few bidders, but strong competition. At one point, the eventual buyers ended up bidding against themselves… more than once.

That’s what a skilled auctioneer can do. And if you’re not prepared for it, it’s very easy to get caught up in the moment.
