Brandon, our Survey Technician, was recently up at Byfield National Park surveying the sand hills and hardwood pallet roads around Five Rocks and Stockyard Point for a Queensland state government department.
Sand hills aren't exactly stable ground. With the landscape shifting over time, traditional survey methods alone weren't going to cut it, so the scope leaned heavily on drones, LiDAR and MLS scanners to build a detailed 3D picture of how the terrain and that 20 year old road infrastructure have changed.
That kind of spatial data gives our client something they can work with, a clear and accurate baseline to inform decisions about how to manage and maintain the area going forward.
