The council meeting last night saw a resident of Casula, residing in Simone Crescent, achieve a milestone by being the first person to address a live-streamed public forum. I believe that the process of getting to this point was quite demanding, but she succeeded and delivered a remarkable speech. I am sharing the link to the recording, but I suggest skipping to around 2.05, where Zainab commences her address. The Mayor then discussed the Liverpool council's attempts to rezone the area from R4 to R3, which were rejected by the state government.
If you are a Casula resident, I recommend listening.

2-3 wilga close, Casula Approved 5 storey apartment block
35-37 Simone Crescent Casula - DA &CC approved for 20 units
25 Simone Crescent Casula -Under application for 6 storey 45 unit CO LIVING block
13-15 Birch Ave Casula - childcare centre approved for 87 places and back in council for approval for additional parking beneath the centre.

This is within 1 block in a residential area. Imagine the traffic in our small streets. Imagine the construction noise when they are all building.
Imagine being the neighbouring property and losing your privacy.

Where will the bins be placed for collection?
There will be 32 bins every week that will require emptying. The development frontage will not be wide enough to accommodate all those bins!
Another concern is, the truck that will be expected to collect them. This is a small cul-de-sac and if cars are parked in the street then the truck won't even be able to get in to the street.

Answers to these questions would be good Liverpool City Council Australia

Such a tiny street.
There are currently 7 homes on this street. 2 are proposed as a 16 unit building. These people will have 1 car spot each.
Where will all the other cars park? Not in this street. Birch Avenue is the next street. There's no room on that one either.
Then there's Simone Cres where another development has been proposed.
We have already had a child hit by a car in Jacaranda crescent because he walked out from behind a parked car. The oncoming car didn't see him. He was taken to hospital and thankfully made a full recovery.
This area is not suited to medium density housing!
