The Federal Budget has had everyone in property circles busy this week — but when the dust settles, the core issue in Perth hasn't changed: supply.
Incentivising new housing in outer growth corridors is a step, but we're already struggling to keep up with demand. And reducing investor activity in established suburbs doesn't conjure new homes in the western suburbs — it's more likely to push rents higher over time.
Markets will adapt, as they always do. But population growth keeps coming, and people still need somewhere to live. Supply remains the story.
