Thought of the day 💡
If "your best" today may not be the "best there is", but it's the best you can do today, there is no point shaming yourself for not being the best there is.
If you only have 80% in the tank and you give 100% of that 80%...then you are quite literally giving everything you have.
Everyone's capacity fluctuates, and if your tank is consistently running on empty, you need a little refueling.
When your tank is low, small things can make a big difference:
🔹️ Step away - go for a walk, run, mediation, yoga, swim - whatever body movement you prefer (20-60mins per day)
🔹️ Put down the screen for a while
🔹️ Laugh...deep belly laughs
🔹️ Have a 20 second hug or a 6 second smooch with your loved one
🔹️ Have a big ol' cry - let it all out
Each of these strategies are proven to
break the stress cycle, soothe the vagus nerve, activate the "rest and digest" parasympathetic nervous system, reduce cognitive overload, and restore emotional balance which is essential to sustainable performance.
TL;DR
When you're consistently running on empty.
Pause, do something to break your daily stress cycle, restore your energy and take care of yourself so you can come back even stronger tomorrow.
