Thought of the day 💡

If "your best" today may not be the "best there is", but it's the best you can do today, there is no point shaming yourself for not being the best there is.

If you only have 80% in the tank and you give 100% of that 80%...then you are quite literally giving everything you have.

Everyone's capacity fluctuates, and if your tank is consistently running on empty, you need a little refueling.

When your tank is low, small things can make a big difference:
🔹️ Step away - go for a walk, run, mediation, yoga, swim - whatever body movement you prefer (20-60mins per day)
🔹️ Put down the screen for a while
🔹️ Laugh...deep belly laughs
🔹️ Have a 20 second hug or a 6 second smooch with your loved one
🔹️ Have a big ol' cry - let it all out

Each of these strategies are proven to
break the stress cycle, soothe the vagus nerve, activate the "rest and digest" parasympathetic nervous system, reduce cognitive overload, and restore emotional balance which is essential to sustainable performance.

TL;DR
When you're consistently running on empty.
Pause, do something to break your daily stress cycle, restore your energy and take care of yourself so you can come back even stronger tomorrow.

22 days to go 📚🤓💭
In just a few weeks, I’ll complete one of the most challenging and meaningful chapters of my life.
Finishing my MBA with the Australian Institute of Business.

l could've chosen an easier topic. I could’ve gone with a simpler research method. But that’s not me. I wanted to stretch myself. I wanted this final capstone project to mean something - to reflect both the academic journey I’ve been on over the 4 years and the 18 years I’ve spent in the real estate industry, learning what makes people and businesses thrive.

I attended a strategy day with Ray White Collective last week and one of the speakers said if you want to make sure you achieve your goals, declare it publicly to hold yourself accountable. So, here I am. Holding myself accountable to my goals.

I’m diving deep into something that hits close to home:
🌱 How managerial support can act as a protective buffer against workplace stress and subsequent burnout.

This topic is too important to oversimplify. That’s why I’ve chosen to undertake a complex thematic analysis, using two organisational psychology theories to explore what’s really going on beneath the surface:
🔹 Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) Theory
🔹 Perceived Organisational Support (POS) Theory

This project isn’t about blame. It’s about awareness, growth, and the opportunity we all have - as colleagues, business owners, and industry leaders - to lead with more intention and care.

I’ve called my research 'The People First Project' because I honestly believe (and the theory backs this up) that when we support our people, everything else improves: wellbeing, engagement, performance, and culture.

I’m still learning, reading, and evolving my thinking as I go… but one thing has never been clearer to me:
Leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about creating environments where people don’t just survive - they thrive.
Because thriving businesses need thriving people.

We all have the power to influence that no matter our title.

If you’ve ever felt the weight of responsibility as a leader, or the impact of great support as an employee, I’d love to hear your perspective.

This is a conversation worth having - and I’m her

Working alongside leaders who aim to make a difference rather than just holding a title positively transforms your work experience. These leaders create environments where we feel motivated, valued, and empowered to contribute our best.

On the contrary, working under someone who uses their title as a form of power and self-gain negatively impacts your work experience. These leaders create environments where we feel unmotivated, unappreciated, and disinterested in contributing our best.

It's concerning that in this day and age, companies still appoint people to lead teams without adequate leadership skills or training. Being a leader and having responsibility is an honour and a privilege to influence lives and serve those under your charge. It's not an opportunity to exploit, belittle, or dictate because of a fancy title. This issue needs more attention.

With a GradCert and GradDip in Management, my goal is to raise awareness of the impact of both positive and negative leadership. I aim to give a voice to those who need it most, inspired by my own journey navigating toxic leaders and workplaces in the past. Are you struggling as a leader or with your own leader? Have your say below or DM me, let's talk about it. 🗣📩💙

In our sales training yesterday, our Sales Director spoke about the importance of mindfulness and taking some time to make sure you're replenishing, recharging, taking care of your mental and physical health and wellbeing by exercising, practising gratitude and showing appreciation for those around you. So, in the spirit of mindfulness, this is me taking a moment out of Alicia Taylor - 3Realty Sales Partner 's book to take care of me for a moment whilst appreciating and being grateful for the reminder 😊✨️💕🌊

This week, we explored a concept that resonates with everyone: the interplay between perception, assumption, and reality.

Picture this: You're faced with a situation, and something doesn't quite add up. Perhaps a friend hasn't replied to your message, or a coworker seems distant. It's natural to start crafting stories in our minds, isn't it? But here's the thing: those stories might not match up with reality.

Just like you, others might have their own reasons for their actions—or lack thereof. By pausing to gather all the facts before jumping to conclusions, we can avoid unnecessary misunderstandings and conflicts in both our personal AND working lives! Keep reminding yourself; "no story, no problem".

Let's champion a culture of understanding and empathy, where we prioritise clear communication and genuine connection. Together, let's embrace the power of facts over assumptions, fostering stronger relationships and a more harmonious environment for everyone. 🧐💡
