Job Alert - Surveyors Assistant
Newnham Karl Weir & Partners (NKWP) is a Land surveying company based in Coffs Harbour NSW, we are in need of a surveyor’s assistant (otherwise known as a Chainee) to help our team with current workload.
The job will mainly include aiding in completion of topographical details and marking of construction with pegs and stakes.
The Job will be casual.
This job role is based in Coffs Harbour. Hours are usually 7am - 4pm but can vary slightly from day to day.
Requirements:
• NSW driver’s license (preferably manual).
• Be physically fit (lots of walking and use of sledgehammers involved)
• Good driving record.
• NSW Whitecard.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Ability to get to our office of a morning.
This is an introductory job role in surveying. A school leaver or someone currently studying surveying at tafe would be suited to this role

Job Alert - Survey Draftsman

Newnham Karl Weir & Partners (NKWP) is a Land surveying company based in Coffs Harbour NSW, due to an increase in workload and projected future works we are in need of an experienced draftsman to help our team continue into the future.
The job will mainly include preparation of topographical details but also include drafting deposited plans, strata plans and as-constructed documentation with the potential to include working with 3d Point clouds from laser scanners or drones. You will be required to work with the surveyors throughout all stages of your work.

The Job will be a full-time office job, with the candidate based in Coffs Harbour.

Required to have:
•A diploma or equivalent qualification prefered but 1-2 years experience within the survey industry and knowledge of survey drafting.
•Demonstrates intermediate to advanced level skills using AUTOCAD or BRICSCAD (mandatory).

Advantages to Have:
•General knowledge of other CAD packages and survey packages e.g. 12d, Liscad
•Knowledge of GIS and Spatial data concepts
•Experience with working with point clouds and 3d modelling

Here's some photos from the last couple of days

Today some of our guys completed the initial site set out for a new road stabilisation project on dorrigo mountain.

We will be completing setout for road works, drainage and wall construction as well as subsidance monitoring for the duration of the project for Warner Company and Burnett Civil

Some of the guys spent this morning cutting through the scrub in the Orara Valley.

We are completing a subdivision and in doing so we need to find some of the original boundary corners. This corner had a reference tree from 1928 that we successfully found!
