BUSHFIRE TRAINING: Over the past 2 days our Womenโ€™s Ranger Team participated in training held by our local Castlereagh Zone RFS to become Basic Bushfire Fighters.

During the two days Graham, Val, the RFS team and our Rangers developed the skills and knowledge to be able to attend a bushfire.

The boys attended on day 2 to showcase what they have learnt and practised scenarios should a fire arise and both crews have to attend, the race was on between the boys and girls to see who could do it right, the fastest.. it depends who you ask as to who won the race.

Thanks to the Castlereagh Zone for hosting us and providing the training to our Rangers. This partnership is one we truly value and look forward to continuing well into the future.

We should not have to write a post like this, but unfortunately, we have had batteries stolen from equipment which is secured in the Coonabarabran Local Aboriginal Land Council yard.

We are a not-for-profit organisation, when we have to replace equipment, it takes away from money and services from our community.

The police have been alerted of the incident.

This program aims to support landholders to control feral pigs and pest animals to reduce the impacts on their property's agricultural and environmental assets.

Thanks to LLS Staff for assisting us, sharing knowledge and working along side us - we are excited to be able to continue our work as part of our Ranger Program.
