📱 A new app has just launched this week that I think many of our Social Nomads Australia members will love — Vanlife Connect!

It’s a free app designed to help travellers connect with other like-minded people camped nearby, which fits so beautifully alongside what our group is all about: finding your people on the road. 🚐✨

But it has another really helpful feature too: you can list your available services so locals and fellow travellers in your area can find you when they need a hand. Perfect for remote workers, pet sitters, handy people, nomads offering services, or anyone looking for trustworthy help while travelling.

I honestly can’t believe something this useful has finally arrived!

It’s free to join and use. There is only a small percentage fee if you actually gain paid work through the app.

Just like Social Nomads Australia, the more people who join in, interact and spread the word, the more valuable it becomes for everyone. I believe Vanlife Connect will work alongside our group and make it even easier for people to meet, help each other and build genuine connections on the road.

Your birthdate and phone number are requested when joining for verification purposes only—they aren’t shared publicly.

Because it’s brand new, the developer is also open to feedback and suggestions, so this has the potential to grow into something really special.

For many travelling Social Nomads, finding somewhere that doesn’t just allow dogs, but genuinely welcomes them, can make all the difference.

So we want recommendations based on your actual experiences.

Finally out in the road again for a week at Belmont. Had a visit today from the Fambam today for lunch. Which is always welcomed. We also met a lovely couple for sunset drinks on our first night here. They were leaving the next morning… they left us a little note behind which I thought was such a lovely gesture. So I’ve decided to start doing the same thing…. There are still lovely people in the world 🙂

🚐 Where Have All the Social Travellers Gone?

G’day everyone! 👋

One thing Ian and I have noticed while travelling around this incredible country is that people don’t seem to mingle like they used to.

Years ago you’d wander over to your neighbours, pull up a camp chair, have a yarn over a drink, swap travel tips and probably end up laughing half the night away.

These days it’s almost like everyone’s tucked away behind closed doors.

So we thought… bu**er that! 😄

Why not create a group that brings back the social side of travelling?

That’s how Social Nomads Australia was born.

We’re not about influencers.
We’re not about selling stuff.
We’re just a bunch of everyday travellers who love meeting new people and making the most of this amazing lifestyle.

TIME FOR SOME NEW SOLAR PANELS and a few upgrades.

We like to stay at all types of camps. But it’s time to keep our budget down for the rest of the year and make some more power from the sun. I love living in my motorhome… but the downside is the maintenance. But it is essential. So while we are living in our own driveway whilst getting to know our new grandbaby. Hubby is working on the upgrades…
