I am extremely proud to announce that my daughter Ruby will be travelling to New Zealand this month to take part in the upcoming QMSI (Queensland Maori Sports Inc) Kotiro Tour 2025, this rugby league tournament is an incredible experience for Ruby and her team mates to showcase their talent, strength and pride in both the sport and their cultural heritage. The tour is more than just a sporting event but a platform for the girls to grow as leaders, connect with their roots and represent the Maori community on a larger stage. This event will take place over ANZAC weekend and 3 teams made up of a total of 60 girls representing U14, U15 and U17 age groups will be representing Queensland, this will be the first time that Queensland will be a part of this extremely special event. Rugby league is more than a game for these teamsβitβs a way of life that embodies the values of whanaungatanga (relationships), kotahitanga (unity), and manaakitanga (hospitality and generosity). The QMSI Kotiro Tour is an opportunity to build upon these values, empowering young women to carry them into the wider world.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank the Harcourts Foundation for their generous donation of $1000 towards sponsoring this life changing experience and would ask that if any other members of our wonderful community wish to sponsor or donate, please get in touch with me for more information or contact [email protected]
Good Luck Girls we are all behind you!!!!
