Coral Cove is situated just south of Bargara at the base of the Great Barrier Reef. The area is protected by Frasier Island to the East. The calm waters off the coast of Coral Cove are a nursery for the largest populations of Humpback whales and the endangered Logger head sea turtle in Australia.
Coral Cove has the only land based Coral reef dive zone that is protected for generations to come as a Green zone.
The reef is home to a wide range of resident Logger head sea turtles and colourful reef fish species usually only seen on the more remote (boat accessible) reef systems further north in Qld.
The whole Coral Cove area was shaped by the relatively recent (1M years ago) eruption of the Hummock volcano. This has created the unique rock pools on the coast and rich volcanic soils that is the base to the prized food bowl of Bundaberg.
The rich volcanic soil profile has been the key to the famous Coral Cove International Golf Course. Home to the stunning pebble beach second hole along the coast line and the only par 6 Golf hole in Australia at 625m long the 12 hole is a challenge for the big hitters in the family.
The exclusive layout of the course means that most of the community have golf course veiws and some path way access. The Coral Cove Club house has a bar and restaurant to cater for the Golfers, resort guests and locals with quality food and drinks and regular live music.
The community is serviced by a locally owned Coral Cove supermarket, with a wide range of both locally sourced products as competitively price necessities, as well as a hugely popular takeaway pizzeria, as well as a wide range of hot food and cold drinks selection. It has become a family favourite on Friday & Saturday nights.
