π³ Winter Street Tree Program 2027 π³
Applications for the 2027 Winter Street Tree Program are now open, don't miss your chance to have a tree planted on your verge!
The program is open to any City of Bunbury property owner interested in having one or more trees planted on their verge, subject to assessment. Trees will be planted during winter 2027, between May and July.
ποΈ Applications close Monday, 30 November 2026.
Last season was a great success, with approximately 580 trees planted across the city in 2026 π± This included 112 trees on residential verges, with the rest planted within road reserves, parks and public open spaces. A further 560 stems were also planted through revegetation activities within natural areas.
Verge trees do more than look good. They boost urban canopy cover, improve our streetscapes, provide welcome shade, support biodiversity and lift the overall feel of a neighbourhood π
Through the program, you can nominate your preferred tree location, number of trees and species, with a list of suitable options provided in the application form. All applications are assessed against our Tree Planting Guidelines, looking at things like verge space, existing infrastructure, services, sightlines and long term canopy growth, to make sure the right tree goes in the right spot π²
π Why apply early?
Tree numbers and species are ordered well in advance to secure quality stock, so applications received after the closing date may miss out on the 2027 planting season. Any applications we can't accommodate in 2027 will automatically roll over to the 2028 season.
Thanks for your understanding, these lead times help us deliver quality trees and a greener Bunbury for everyone to enjoy π
