A little flashback to one VERY tiny Truffle… 🥹🐾

Even as a pup, he loved stopping to say hello to the locals — including these lovely sheep we still regularly see on our walks.

But did you know sheep can recognise individual faces and remember familiar faces for years? 🐑

Which has us wondering…

A couple of years later, does our woolly friend recognise Truffle too?

Although looking at this photo, we're not entirely sure who's calling who woolly. 😂🐾🐑

Truffle, of course, seems convinced they're old friends. Even now, the moment we say “Hello Sheep!”, he is totally invested. 🤎

And judging by this first meeting, perhaps they are. 🐾🐑

🤩 Fun Fact for the week… did you know...?

We THINK it's official. Spring has sprung in Spa Country. 🌸🌼

Although judging by the bitterly cold weather today, you'd be forgiven for thinking otherwise...

BUT the daffodils are out in full force, the magnolias are NOW flowering (which means Sebastian has officially lost our little competition 😂), we've spotted the tiniest hint of red from our first tulip… and, perhaps the surest sign of all, this week the lawnmower made its first appearance of the season. 😂

Although after all that rain, let's just say the first mow was less effortlessly manicured country garden and more… character building. 🌱😂

But where's this week's fun fact you ask…

Well, did you know magnolias are older than bees? 🌸🐝

Magnolias are among the world's most ancient flowering plants. They evolved before bees and relied on beetles as early pollinators — which helps explain their wonderfully robust, thick, almost waxy flowers.

And then there's their extraordinary perfume — creamy, citrusy, sweet and a little spicy.

Apparently there's quite a science to the seductive power of magnolia-like fragrance too… but we'll save THAT fun fact for another week. 😂

Ancient magnolias, emerging tulips, daffodils everywhere and grass growing faster than we can mow it…

Hello, spring. We've missed you! 🌞🌸
