Duck Hole Lake — Far South Tasmania’s Quiet Magic

Tucked away in the forests near Hastings, Duck Hole Lake is one of those Southern Tasmania walks that feels like a secret shared. The track winds gently through mossy forest and tree‑fern gullies before opening to a mirror‑still lake formed above an old sinkhole. On a calm day, the reflections of the hills and forest are so perfect they hardly look real.

It’s an easy, peaceful wander — ideal for anyone who loves slow nature, birdsong, and those quiet moments where Tasmania shows off without trying. A beautiful little escape in the Far South Tasmania.
