It was an adrenaline pumped few hours until the wind changed and a very stressful two days until the fire was contained and under control. The fire fighting resources were phenomenal. As dawn approached on the Tuesday the water bombing planes and helicopters swung into action. It wasn’t until then that I was able to get some sleep.
An exhausting experience and now I will have even more empathy for anyone caught in a similar situation.
Caroline and the kids evacuated just before the road was closed. I urge everyone to have a fire plan and adhere to it.
