What a glorious day it was today here in Eagleton!
I spent much of today mulching the pastures and settling in the new steers on the pastures.
I have a lovely lady staying in The Deer Hunters Cottage this weekend with three beautiful companions. A border Collie and two gorgeous Jack Russell friends. It was fun watching them having the time of their lives romping all over the paddocks with Gabrielle.
How very blessed I am to be able to share my property with such lovely folks.

Our first visitors had lovely things to say about The Deer Hunters Cottage. Not a social media person, Keith Told his mother and this is what Audrey wrote on another page.

Could not stop talking about how beautiful this farm was, and they have traveled to more then 28 countries around the world.
They also said you made them feel very at home and they wanted for nothing while staying with you 🙂

The Deer Hunters Cottage has had her first visitors this week!
I’d really like to show my appreciation and thanks to Justin Green building services who, under difficult circumstances, came back to finish off the new deck and fence.
There’s more to do, and Justin will be back shortly to complete the project.
In the meantime we have a beautiful little deck, a fence with a ledge for your wine or beer as you watch for the afternoon visitors of deer and wallabies, and the yard for you and your puppers convenience.
We were excited that our very first visitors were, John and Angie Wicks, for a stop over on their way through to Equitana! They had a magnificent mare that I’d have happily kept!!! She enjoyed her break from the long trip, had a lovely pick on the fresh pasture before retiring to her freshly made bed/stable for the night.
I look forward to hosting this lovely trio on their homeward journey, next Monday evening!
Angie, I’ll have the wine chilled!
Today, I welcomed Keith Haywood, son of the great horsewoman, Audrey. His beautiful wife and young son are staying a few days to relax and recoup! They have with them a beautifully trained Belgian Malinois named Macy. I hope they enjoy their stay and the planned visit to the famous Birubi Beach.
Adam Fairfull will be here shortly to paint the cottage. Adam’s a great friend, a top guy who worked with Justin to deliver the renovation to the homestead and turn the old dairy into this beautiful Deer Hunters Cottage.

The country never looked better!
This week we had another 30ml of rain! The spring grasses have gone crazy! There’s clover, rye, kikuyu and the paspalum is coming through too!
It’s green green and more green!
The cattle are rolling fat and the deer look fabulous!
Loz is going to make pasture hay if we can get enough drying days!

Also, reward yourself for the exercise and beautiful walk by calling into LJ’s Cafe Anna Bay. Three minutes from the beach 🏖️ for the best ever 🍳 and 🥓 rolls!
Puppers reward …. Yummy Patties cooked to perfection. The seating, under cover at LJs is 🐕 friendly.

Get ready for a revamped Deer Hunters Cottage experience!
You asked for it, you got it!!
We've commenced work on the outdoor deck and yard, ensuring a secure and enjoyable space for your furry friends. As part of this transformation, we've had to remove the stone wall, but the results will be truly remarkable. Unfortunately, this means no vacancies for a week or two, but rest assured that our farm is thriving. Here in todays photos you can witness the growth of our baby calves and meet our dedicated team - Poppy, Gabbie, and Gizmo - who keep everything running smoothly. 🌱🐕
