World Compliment Day is the perfect chance to celebrate someone who really deserves it.

Charlen, or "Cha" as we call her, makes everything easier for those around her just by being her authentic self.

She's the ultimate team player…the one who's always got that "nothing is ever a problem" and "of course I can help with that" vibe.

She's the kind of person you quickly realise is absolutely essential to how things run every day. She catches on fast, genuinely wants to learn and grow, and it’s been awesome seeing her confidence really take off week after week.

What really stands out though is who she is as a person. Always kind. Always polite. Always respectful. Always smiling. And more often than not, she’s the one handing out compliments to others before anyone thinks to give one back.

We want to take a moment to celebrate Anne and Andy.

They brought their two brand new rooming houses to us back in February 2023, and in many ways, that marked the beginning of our rooming house letting journey. One we’ve genuinely loved learning, growing into, and getting really good at.

They’re fantastic owners. Thoughtful, engaged, and committed to doing things properly. The properties are great, and something we’re especially proud of is that we still have most of the original tenants in place today.

That says a lot.

We’re the first to admit we are not trying to be the flashiest agency on the Gold Coast.

But we do try to stay as innovative as our budget allows because it actually makes life easier for our owners.

That is why we use things like owner portals, 360 degree photos and proper digital tracking.

It keeps us compliant, keeps communication clear and gives owners transparency without drowning them in fluff. Some of our clients love logging in and checking every detail.

Others say “just tell me what I need to know”. Both ways work, and we keep things simple either way.

One thing we’ve noticed over the years is how often landlords compare property managers purely by the percentage fee. We get it. It is the only number that’s easy to see.

But here’s the tip: The cheapest fee usually costs you the most in the long run.

Every time we’ve taken over a property from a low fee, high volume agency, we find the same things. Missed notices. Lapsed smoke alarm compliance. Maintenance pushed back until it turns into something expensive. Tenants who were never properly screened. All small things on their own, but together they chip away at your return.

From our experience, a good property manager doesn’t save you money on the invoice. They save you money everywhere else.
