Employment Opportunity. Back in February I advertised a position for a horse person at our Thoroughbred training facility in South Ballina. Then the floods came and our plans came to a halt…..
We are now back on track and in the next fortnight we will have up to 14 racehorses stabled and in work on the property. We are now seeking a reliable and enthusiastic horse person to assist with the daily routine. General ground duties will include, feeding, rugging, saddling, hosing, cleaning paddocks and stables.
A capable rider would be ideal in assisting with exercising the racehorses or to ride the older horses as escorts of the younger horses to the beach. The position would be great for
someone interested in the racing industry with the desire to learn trackwork.
The day would start a 6am and would require someone who is flexible to work around the tides.
A RacingNSW licence would be a requirement but is easy to obtain and occasional Raceday attendance may be requested. Applicants from my previous advertisement are encouraged to reapply if interested. 0417686922

With our new beach facility starting to take shape we are searching for experienced horse people to join our team. Currently the main work would be at our stables located at the racetrack in Ballina where we have 29 horses in work. In the coming months we will be relocating half our team to the beach property and are interested in hearing from horse people wanting to be involved in something exciting and different for the racehorses. At the moment the property has spelling horses and some horses in pretraining. Position is open to both grounds people and riders as there is enough scope in this property for different types of roles to evolve. Applicants must be prepared to become registered with RacingNSW and have a genuine interest in the racing industry. For riders, trackwork is not necessarily part of the package but a very competent level of riding is required as the horses will be exercised on the beach, over jumps and on trials.

Located right on the beach, En Avant Stables offers racehorses a point of difference. Whether it be spelling, rehabilitation, pretraining or racing it would be hard to find a horse that didn’t enjoy these surroundings.
