Amazing what a coat of paint can do. The railings were all resecured & after a good sanding, were fine to re-attach with screws, making them stronger for curious little ones not to push through 😁

New stairs with old ones being slippery due to years of mould - areas prone to very little sunlight are always a concern for mould and slippery areas unable to dry out.

The results are mind-blowing. What a difference 👍

Some jobs you find yourself scratching your head. How this deck hadn't collapsed or worse, caused an injury is beyond me. What should've been a simple deckboard replacement ended up being a major rebuild. Firstly, the previous deckboards were put on upside down, causing major water retention and mould. The entire frame was water damaged as a result. The scariest find was all the joists being undersized weren't attached to the frame.

Anyway, sorted it all. Rebuilt the frame, new oversized joists, it's as solid as you can get.

Huge thanks to North Shore Timber & Hardware at Erina for the best quality timber I have ever used.

Previously brought timber from Bunnings Warehouse Australia but sorry, never again.

Progress. Removed all the water rotten timber(basically everything) Joists installed, new steps and deckboards arriving this week.

It's going to be an amazing transformation.
