Moving from one rental to another? NSW’s new Smart Rental Bonds scheme could make the process a little easier.

Eligible renters can transfer their existing bond directly to their new rental, rather than waiting for their old bond to be refunded before paying the new one.

So how does it work?

Your new agent starts the process through Rental Bonds Online, and you’ll receive a unique code to transfer your existing bond. There is a $25 Smart Rental Bonds fee, and if your new bond is higher, you’ll need to pay the difference.

Simple, right? 👀

Smart Rental Bonds are now available on the Central Coast as part of the NSW rollout.
