COME AND JOIN US!

Residents of Evans Head and surrounding areas are warmly invited to join our planned group paddle sessions on the beautiful Evans Head River.

Everyone is welcome… regardless of gender or paddling experience. Paddling is a wonderful way to exercise, enjoy the outdoors, and connect with members of our paddle club. Join us on the water and stay afterwards for a social coffee.

The Evans Head Paddle Club plans four fully insured morning sessions each week. Our coordinators focus on paddle stroke technique for both beginners and experienced paddlers, as well as water awareness and safety.

Our first paddle session on Evans Head waterways with 2x OC6 person canoes. Great session with both paddle crews pushing each other to reach our chosen point down to Iron Gates and back to river mouth… conditions for paddling were magnificent. The 2x OC6 person canoes now allow our session coordinators the ability to manage more new paddlers and work on paddle techniques, so all paddles within each canoe work together for best canoe result. Our Evans Head Paddle Club is eager to share some great news and a few pictures to our community. We just received our 2nd OC6 person canoe on Saturday… placing it into our locked up compound ready to rig up and use for our Sunday (today) session.

Our Evans Head Paddle Club members would like to wish… local and nearby residents a happy Easter and be sure to travel safe over this busy period. Our club welcomes new members as we soon take ownership of another OC6… 6 person canoe, this increases our canoe fleet and will allow us to paddle with up to 22x paddlers in one session, we also have 2x single ski paddles available within our fleet. To Evans Head Rotary Club,

We wish to express our sincere gratitude for your generous donation of $1,500 for the purchase of our OC6 canoe. Your support has enabled us to purchase these essential pieces of equipment, and the branding for the boat.

We envision this as a fantastic spectacle, enjoyed by many locals from the banks of our beautiful Evans River during our paddle sessions. It will undoubtedly help raise awareness of our club, the sport of paddling and our canoe sponsor.

One of our key purposes is the health of the Evans River as that is where we spend our time during our 4-5 paddle sessions each week. A wonderful effort by our members on Sunday 1 March for Clean up AUST (Evans) Day as we paddled to Iron Gates and pick up rubbish along the river banks on the way back to town… 7x full bags and part of a buggie board 😮 🤩 WOW.

One of our key purposes as a club is to care for our local waterways. Our planned paddle sessions this Saturday and Sunday will focus on cleaning up along the foreshore, within common areas we paddle… down toward Iron Gate and around the main town area of Evans Head river and estuaries. Our club has registered with Clean Up Australia in the area of Richmond Valley Council for this event, we will launch our OC6 and OC2 canoes from behind Club Evans RSL at 7am and clean up areas that are hard to access by road.
