OUTSIDE CATCHING WAVES IN OUR OC6 - The attached picture was sent by a local resident standing on the wall this morning, catching our members outside ridding waves. Our coordinators will only go outside with experienced and willing crew… they caught 6 good waves and had a blast. Interested to come and try outrigger paddling on Evans River please connect by DM… all skill level welcome 18+.

The attached picture of our Outrigger Canoe 6 person (OC6) heading upriver yesterday to be used at Woodburn Riverside Festival. Our Evans Head Paddle Club has set up a marquee and have spare paddle and safety vests for anyone 18+ to “Come and Try” outrigger paddling today at the festival. Our coordinators and paddle members will ensure safety first and demonstrate correct paddle technique… lots of fun and you can enjoy actually being on the water. Alternatively… just come a chat about days and time we have planned paddle’s sessions at Evans Head and joins us in the future.

Come and try outrigger paddling at Woodburn Riverside Festival this Saturday 19 September. Our members are paddling a 6 person outrigger canoe up to Woodburn this Friday to join in on the fun. We will have a tent and our coordinator on the day will demonstrate outrigger paddle technique, ensure water safety and those that join us get to experience a safe enjoyable paddle on Richmond River.

Another good after paddle session catch up onsite for coffee and a chat. This was our second catch up and function of setting and cleaning up after… is getting better. Some paddlers had to leave for planned bush walk but still great turn up. All welcome as you do not need to paddle that morning. If interested in coming down for a coffee ($2.50) and check out our club and its members… all welcome, just behind Club Evans RSL every Sunday around 8.20am.

Our first official on site (Club Evans RSL deck) coffee catch up with paddle members, family and friends. This is a wonderful reflection of what our club has become… morning paddle on our wonderful waterways, connecting with marine and wildlife, some exercise and catch up after for a chat, coffee and snacks with a great group of people.

A BIG THANK YOU to SPAR Evans Head for their generous part donation of bread, and to the Evans Head Fish CO-OP for their donation of ice for our fundraising BBQ at Bunnings Ballina tomorrow.

Your support makes a huge difference as we continue to grow the Evans Head Paddle Club. Every contribution helps us provide more opportunities for local and nearby residents to get out on our beautiful waterways, enjoy the incredible wildlife, connect with fellow paddlers, and improve their fitness in a fun and welcoming environment.

We have had some amazing early morning paddle sessions on Evans River over the last few months… connecting with local wldlife and just the pure tranquillity of paddling our local waterways and enjoying our early morning sunrise.

On behalf of all member… JOB WELL DONE by our Session Leaders providing varied paddle skill session and assisting with paddle technique for a coordinated smooth boat stroke, which is a big part of our club function.

A few of our members went outside at Evans Head for this morning paddle session after visual check of condition which were suitable… also quick log in with Marine Rescue before going out to see any Dolphin’s or whales 🐳 🫍🐋passing by our coast line. Big thanks to one of our members for the pictures 🥰.
