We’ve received a report about a suspected itinerant roof repair trader operating in the Ferny Hills area of Brisbane.

A homeowner was approached by a man offering a "today only" special for $6,000 to repair their roof.

When asked to see a contract and a business card, the man was unable to provide either. He also avoided answering questions about how he assessed the roof’s condition.

Be wary of travelling tradespeople who use high-pressure sales tactics or encourage you to sign up immediately.

Consumers should take time to consider any offer, obtain independent quotes, and check the trader has the appropriate licence, before agreeing to any work.
