So happy to include this little detail in the reconstruction. They are called dendrites and are crystal growths of manganese oxide. Perhaps the most common pseudo fossil with people thinking they are fossil ferns. Fossil or not, this palaeontologist is proud to have them on my toilet floor!

So what am I messing around with now? Just another mosaic, this time in wood. Experimenting with making a block with a repeating pattern then slicing it to make up the boarder. So far, so good but the corners are proving a bit tricky.
