Fitzroy Quarter by Milieu (Coming Soon)

Fitzroy Quarter, a new design neighbourhood in Melbourne’s inner north, where Fitzroy, Collingwood, Clifton Hill and Fitzroy North meet.

We asked some of the people contributing to the project what they think makes a good neighbourhood…

Here, Claire Adey from Into It talks about the NPCs (non-player characters) that you interact with on a day-to-day basis, that maybe you’ve never really spoken to before, and how they make this rich tapestry of what a neighbourhood or a city is.

Derby Street, Studio Bright for Milieu (Now Selling)

Derby Street sits at the quieter end of Collingwood, between Gertrude Street and East Melbourne, close to the historic Carlton and Fitzroy Gardens.

Designed to sit comfortably among the street’s heritage buildings, the building uses layered massing and a varied palette of materials and textures to give the façade a presence that is distinctive yet respectful of its surroundings.

‘We enjoy the challenge of adding new sympathetic contemporary buildings within a rich and diverse context,’ says architect Mel Bright.

Construction is progressing, with move-in set for late 2027.

Well… they bought.

For Lyn and Gary, it came down to the simple things: walking almost everywhere, the Classic Cinema across the road, Rippon Lea Estate next door, room to have friends over and a glimpse of the Bay.

That, and no pressure to sign on the dotted line.

One Wilson Ave by Milieu (Completed 2022)

Since 2010, Milieu has created residential buildings that hold the character of Melbourne’s inner neighbourhoods and support their evolution. We’re drawn to sites that call for care and judgement rather than a formula, where small details matter as much as big decisions.

One Wilson Ave, completed in 2022, is a clear expression of that approach. Inspired by the varied and enduring textures of Brunswick, it takes cues from the suburb’s brutalist post-war buildings.

Inside, simple, well-planned homes are filled with natural light, shaped by DesignOffice’s deep understanding of space. Flexibility, accessibility, environmentally conscious design and a seamless connection to the street come together to create a sustainable vertical community.

How people choose to live, what brings them together and how daily life unfolds remains at the heart of our approach.

Fitzroy Quarter by Milieu (Coming Soon)

We’re pleased to introduce Fitzroy Quarter, a new neighbourhood in Melbourne’s inner north, where Fitzroy, Collingwood, Clifton Hill and Fitzroy North meet.

Shaped through design at every scale, Fitzroy Quarter brings together architecture, landscape and local life as part of one connected whole. The project has been developed with a collective of local architects, landscape designers and collaborators, each bringing a different perspective to how a neighbourhood might be lived in.

Plant Street by Malvern (Now Selling)

With interiors by local studio Georgina Jeffries, these
nurturing and light-filled spaces exemplify the curatorial
approach the studio is known for. Elegant, tactile and
highly functional, the material palette of honey timber
joinery, brown ash brick, terrazzo and natural stone
emanates warmth and welcome throughout.

Custom-made lighting, designed by Brunswick East based
Volker Haug Studio, complements the material
palette. Hand-picked by Georgina Jeffries, these
pieces reflect the studio’s refined approach to design,
which celebrates local craftspeople and prioritises
lasting comfort.

This Saturday, come along to the Plant Street Spring Open Day, enjoy coffee and pastries and experience these brand-new furnished and styled apartments in Malvern.
Plant Street by Milieu offers the perfect balance: crafted design, classically robust and a connected location.

Located just 10 kilometres south-east of the C*D, Plant Street is surrounded by leafy streets, sprawling parklands and heritage architecture. Close to Malvern Road, Glenferrie Road and High Street, the building is connected to an excellent range of retail spaces, dining venues and community facilities, as well as public and private schools.

Designed in collaboration with local architecture practice RITZ&GHOUGASSIAN and local interiors studio, Georgina Jeffries, the material palette of honey timber joinery, brown ash brick, terrazzo and natural stone emanates warmth and welcome throughout. Plant life envelops the building and internal open-air atrium, to gently filter the streetscape. With equal focus on architecture, interiors and landscaping by Acre, Plant Street has been considered from a variety of perspectives to arrive at a truly cohesive design.
