Who else appreciates a nice rack? 😜 Introducing the main man of SASS's Longhorn breeding program, 'COOKIE' 🍪. Handsome, right? He came to us as a weaner for a Mother's Day present, spent about a year in our 'team roping pen' before his horns finally got too big for him to be roped anymore. Now he lives the high life of watching over all the ladies 🐂🫣😍

🐴🐂 Meet the SASS team 🐂🐴

Steven and Ashleigh Augustin, plus two kiddos aged 10 and 4.

Steve has been a farrier for close to 25 years and has been roping for just as long. He has won multiple saddles and buckles across the team roping and calf roping events in the NRA, APRA and ATRA. He is a child at heart and full of patience for learner ropers.

Ashleigh has been a primary school teacher since 2013 and was a paramedic with the QLD Ambulance Service prior to this. She has been a roping addict since the day Steve got her hooked back in 2015, and has enjoyed training her own barrel horses over the years. Ash loves to help young people both in and out of the arena.

Steve and Ash started breeding beef and roping cattle to suit their own needs back in 2016, before making this a business venture in 2022 when they started 'SASS Livestock'. They now breed solid Brangus beef cattle and hardy Longhorn roping cattle at their Forest Hill property.

Since building a beautiful arena set up at their ranch in Forest Hill, they have been eager to use their facilities to begin training rope and barrel horses and give lessons to beginner or junior ropers/racers.
