A peaceful retreat, and a perfect base for hiking, biking and all things delicious. Each suite is uniquely styled.

The Forrest Guesthouse offers comfortable and relaxed self-contained accommodation. The Lake Elizabeth is our Queen suite, the cosiest of our suites, perfect for singles or couples. The Forrest suite sleeps two and can be set up as twin singles or a King bed. Both the Otways and Barwon can sleep four - two in the main bedroom (either twin singles or a king bed) and the sofa in the lounge can sleep two singles. We are near enough to local attractions, yet private enough if you want a complete escape from the everyday pressures of life. Why not book yourself a meal at the on-site restaurant, Dar Tèta? Enjoy an excellent meal and a drink, right on the doorstep of your accommodation.

Wow! What a cracking few days we had last week. Over 100 species spotted and beaut weather to boot! From scrubby bush at Yaugher, down to coastal beauty on Great Ocean Road, temperate Otway rainforest and lakeside beauty at Colac, the Otway Birds women’s retreat had it all. Led by experienced local birder Adam Fry, the group explored and ticked off lifers, spotted platypus with Otway Eco Tours, were kept nourished by Forrest Bower Bird Cafe, relaxed at Forrest Guesthouse in the evenings. What a lovely afternoon we had at the Bower Bird yesterday, thanks to all who came along and supported live music in the community.
Special mention to The SeaChord and Emma Pakula lovely people that they are. Our next gig is Carl & Matty O on the 3rd Oct at 12.30.
We are taking a small break from 23-27 Sept for the school hols and back on the 30 Sept.

How cute are spotted pardalotes?! A friend let me visit their property as they regularly see pardalotes and it was a joy to see them up close. They are stunning! A few spots left on our upcoming women’s birding retreat this October.

How’s this weather?! 🤩☀️🐦 I had to pull over to look at the canola. Two suites remaining for our Otway Birds Women’s Retreat in October. You could be enjoying the sunshine and listening to Grey Shrikethrushes and fairywrens chattering in the 🥝 vine. The garden will be in the full swing of Spring by then….!
