The original tiles weren’t laid with correct fall to drain, meaning a lack of drainage and water retention that eventually seeped under the tiles and into the screed below.
Removal of the tiles, original tile fix and slight grinding of the screed to accept the new tile thickness for it all to align was in order.
A coat of Cromellins epoxy damp coat to stop rising damp, followed by a waterproofing membrane.
A discontinued tile size replaced with 450mm tiles, cut to follow the screed fall to drain - finished off with an epoxy grout to ensure this shower base will hold up for longer that it did previously.
