The Gables take on The Nullarbor

Yesterday was the big fella’s birthday! 🎉🎂

And of course, in true Nullarbor style… we worked! 😂 But just to make his birthday extra memorable, we had the generator deciding it had had enough and stopping from being overloaded, AND the census happening on the same night! 🤦‍♀️😂

Because apparently a normal busy day at the Nullarbor just wasn’t enough excitement for a birthday! 🔌😂

Thankfully, our morning Chef came to the rescue and treated the birthday boy to a rather large sponge 🎂 — and then the night Chef added even more cream, knowing full well that cream is Carl’s absolute favourite! 😂❤️

So after a hectic day of work, generator dramas and census chaos, he finally got to sit down and enjoy his birthday treat!

Not exactly your traditional birthday celebrations, but out here you just roll with the punches, laugh through the chaos and make the most of a bloody good sponge loaded with cream! 😂🎂

3,600 kilometres later and we’re officially back at the Nullarbor Roadhouse! 🚐💨

What an awesome few days away. We filled our cups with family time, soaked up plenty of grandbaby cuddles, and gave the new caravan its first proper shakedown trip.

Now it’s time to swap the road trip for roadhouse life again. Back to the business, back to the team, and back to welcoming travellers from all over.

Home sweet home… until the next adventure! 🤠🛣️

Well, that’s a wrap on our wee family catch-up. ❤️

It’s time to hitch up the van and start making our way back to the Nullarbor Roadhouse after a few amazing days spent with our girls. We made the most of every moment together and squeezed in plenty of precious cuddles with our gorgeous grandbaby🥰

The new caravan is officially on its shakedown trip, with three nights on the road before we’re back to the roadhouse and back into business.

The Gable adventures are officially rolling on, and we couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead.

Life’s too short not to chase new adventures, make memories, and say “why not?” every now and then.
