We used LiDAR and aerial mapping to plan a 3D waypoint mission that navigates around boulders and trees while maintaining a steady 7m AGL. The goal? Evenly spread Phalaris, fertilizer, and tree seeds to rejuvenate 150 hectares of undulating terrain, stabilize eroding slopes, and create sustainable grazing pasture.

STORM SPATIAL offers a comprehensive approach to forestry mapping. We combine the efficiency of drone LiDAR with the detailed data capture of handheld scanners. Critically, we utilise Survey Grade ground control for both, ensuring accuracy across all data sets. This dual method provides detailed tree inventories, including tree count, species identification, breast height trunk and canopy measurements, carbon storage capacity, coordinated location and AHD at ground level. Accompanying the dataset is a contoured DTM and orthomosaic capturing the area at that point in time.
