A new display has opened at The Village in Middleton Field - our Daylesford project.

The final stage of The Bottleworks is complete, with the 7 boutique apartments designed by Chamberlain Architects ready for their new owners within the former Geelong Glass Works factory building.

Completed by local builder foxbuildinggroup with project management by Fathom Group each apartment has been shaped by the original character of the building, with exposed timber trusses, columns and heritage details creating homes that are individual in both layout and materiality.

Grasscrete install along a laneway at The Village townhouses in Daylesford.

The permeable paving system will reduce impervious surfaces across the new Middleton Field neighbourhood.

Delivered by & with an overarching design by landscape architects .landscape

Unlike conventional concrete paving, Grasscrete allows water to permeate naturally into the ground below - helping reduce stormwater runoff, lessen surface heat build-up and support a greener streetscape.

Unveiled on ANZAC Day along Raglan Street, a new sign now recognises the Daylesford Avenue of Honour in Middleton Field.

The Avenue has long marked the lives of local servicemen and women through over 200 trees. Many original markers have been lost over time, with recent efforts led by the Daylesford RSL and local volunteers to restore the Avenue including replacing trees and introducing new signage.

The new sign brings together 261 names of those from the Daylesford region who lost their lives in the First World War - creating a lasting point of recognition within the Avenue.

Located within a future vegetation and drainage corridor, the setting will continue to evolve as new planting is introduced over time.

The project has been shaped by strong local effort, with contributions from the Daylesford RSL, community groups and local organisations, alongside support from regional contractors and businesses involved in the delivery of the sign and landscape works.

Flashback to when the former 1920s Glassworks factory at The Bottleworks site in South Geelong was mid-restoration.

Restored by heritage specialist Abode Restoration - works included reinstating the historic Geelong Glass Works Ltd roof sign - amazingly hand-painted by traditional sign writer .son

The sign now serves as a clear link to the site’s industrial past into its next residential chapter.

The recently hosted its Geelong Outlook event bringing together a large group of industry leaders to discuss the region’s next phase of growth.

Hygge Development Director Jessica joined a panel to discuss the delivery of new housing in central Geelong with discussion around planning certainty, approval pathways and the feasibility of infill development.

With Geelong expected to deliver around 128,000 new homes by 2051 – much of this growth will rely on well-planned infill development within existing neighbourhoods.

The program also explored the city’s broader growth outlook, including the exciting upcoming opening of Nyaal Banyul – the Geelong Convention and Event Centre.
