Ken's shed was my late husbands space. It was his space to relax, have a beer, or let's face it, a bit of peace and quiet.... It has been a space for gatherings over the years, for quiet get togethers, for friends and family to visit, and a space for me to feel close to Ken since his passing. A heartfelt thank you to the local businesses and accommodation providers who continually refer Guests to us. We often receive comments from our Guests complimenting the way we all work together, and how we reach out each other if we are unable to help, and how we all do our best to find them a place to stay. I was just reading through our FB and Google reviews and feeling very grateful for all the lovely comments we have received over the years. We receive compliments from every guest who stays with us. Some don't have Google and/or FB. Some choose not to leave a review, as it's just not their thing. One gentleman recently told us he has been travelling for 5 years and ours was the most luxurious accommodation he had stayed in so far. WOW. That was quite a compliment. Thank you to everyone who either leaves a review or shares their compliments with us personally. It really means a lot to us. Another gentleman said we undersell ourselves calling our accommodation "rustic', and the word shed is misleading. To explain, I showed him our pictures of our humble beginnings. He was amazed at how far we have come, as are we. We are a small team here, and we pride ourselves on offering clean and comfortable accommodation. Again, thank you to everyone who has and continues to support us.

All ready for our Laura Fair guests. FYI those Kmart ensemble Air Beds are really comfy. You know you are doing something right when guests choose to stay with you for 3 Fairs now. Best of luck to The Laura Fair and thank you to all the volunteers who make it happen. I'm sure it will be fabulous.

Our renovations are complete! Hope you all like it. Shout out to Dave Rodgers for his excellent renovation work, his problem solving skills, but most importantly, his patience. I can't express just how much I value you my friend. Gratitude to Mark Roullier for the beautiful kitchen, for your guidance and support, and the extra trips out to Gladstone; to Joe from JC Plumb-Gas Services for not only plumbing, but for all those extra little jobs I always seemed to have for you, and somehow you always managed to do them without cursing me; to Jamie, Caleb and Kaden from Davidson Electrical for not just your work in Ken's Shed, but for the years of quality work you have done here at number 8, and for getting the swampy ready for summer; to John Hennessy from Midstate Hardware Mitre 10 for your help and guidance with sourcing all our hardware; to Britt from Pirie Tiles and Hardware centre for your help, product knowledge and excellent customer service; to Betta View Windows Betta View Windows Port Pirie for their excellent work making the shower fit to a very NOT square room, and for the perfect colour matching of the screen door; to Port Pirie Carpet Court and for the incredible patience the young man who laid the lino showed, as he navigated all the curves in the tin. No, it couldn't slide under it unfortunately; and last but definitely not least, to Kel, Steve and Scotty from Homeflair Furnishings thankyou for storing everything for me for so long, and for always being patient with my indecision and going the extra mile to help me every time I walk in your shop. Oh and Steve, the colour you suggested for the ensemble base is just perfect, and one I would never have considered. A special thank you to my friend Sharyn Muggleton, for being my sounding board over the past many months, while I battled with myself about it all.
