Something new is taking shape behind the scenes - because moving house/towns isn't enough to hold 😂

Over the past few months, alongside creating personalised ceremonies for couples across the Gladstone region, I’ve also been working on something a little different…

A relaxed vow writing workshop designed to help couples feel calmer, more confident, and less overwhelmed when it comes to writing their wedding vows.

Not perfect words. Not pressure. Just vows that sound like you.

This Sunday I’ll be at the Hazel Lane Estate Open Day with some early workbook samples, ideas, and information about the upcoming pilot workshop — and I’d genuinely love to chat with couples about what they struggle with most when it comes to vows and ceremony planning.

Yesterday’s wedding at Canoe Point felt a little special for me ❤️

I first came to this region in my early 20’s — and like so many locals, I’ve spent years at places like Canoe Point for beach walks, BBQs, sunsets and all the simple moments in between.

So standing here yesterday, helping another couple begin their next chapter in a place that already holds so many memories, felt pretty lovely.

Also… apparently this is what my celebrant “pre-ceremony jazz hands” look like now 😂🙌

(And yes, this outfit has somehow become my unofficial celebrant uniform for 2026 🤎)

Hello, I’m Kym — an authorised Marriage Celebrant working across the Gladstone region.

I create relaxed, meaningful wedding ceremonies for couples who want their day to feel genuine and personal.

Some couples choose a simple registry-style wedding, while others want a personalised ceremony that reflects their story.

My role is to guide you through the process and create a ceremony that feels comfortable, natural, and true to you.

And yes… occasionally there may be a laugh or two along the way.

Over the past few years many of you have followed the journey of The Heart Wood and the beautiful ceremonies held here.

As my work as a celebrant has grown, I’m simplifying things and bringing everything under my own name — Kym Harris Celebrant.

I’ll still be sharing ceremonies, wedding inspiration, and moments from this space, but the focus here will be on the work I love most - creating relaxed, meaningful wedding ceremonies for couples who want their day to feel genuine and personal.
