Calling all bird lovers! 🐦🌿

We’re excited to share that a bird monitoring unit is now installed at Myalla, recording the incredible variety of birdlife found across the property.

While connected to Myalla’s Wi-Fi, guests can explore the species recorded, view images and listen to real bird calls—making it a wonderful tool for identifying birds and learning their songs during your stay.

Early mornings at Myalla. ☀️

There’s a special kind of stillness here before the day really begins.

The first sunlight filters through the gums, the birds start their morning chorus and the Capertee Valley slowly wakes around you.

It’s the perfect time to wander outside with a coffee, breathe in the cool country air and enjoy having nowhere else you need to be.

The first morning light reaches across the Capertee Valley, the sandstone cliffs catch the sun and glow golden against the cool morning landscape.

The birds are beginning their morning chorus, the bush is waking up and the day ahead feels wonderfully unhurried.

Coffee in hand, nowhere you need to be.

Mornings at Myalla are pretty hard to beat.

🍷🍴 RYLSTONE STREETFEAST IS BACK FOR 2026!

Save the date for one of the Rylstone-Kandos region’s favourite days of the year — Rylstone StreetFeast returns on Saturday 7 November.

Rylstone’s main street will come alive from 10am with local food and w**e, market stalls, regional produce, live music, buskers, kids’ activities and plenty to see, taste and enjoy throughout the day.

And, of course, there’s the centrepiece of StreetFeast — the famous Long Lunch beneath Rylstone’s beautiful plane trees. Settle in for a four-course shared-platter lunch showcasing local produce, accompanied by an afternoon of live entertainment.

Happy first day of Spring from us at Myalla 🌸🐝

Our favourite time of year - the bush is humming, after some recent rain and Leasha's hard work, the garden around the homestead looks an absolute picture!

This old refurbished church pew on Myalla’s verandah has probably seen more quiet mornings, long conversations and cups of tea than we could ever count.

No agenda. No rush. Just take a seat and watch nature go about its business for a while. 🌿

This beautiful Golden Whistler was captured by j edwards photography in the Rylstone are recently.

Usually more at home amongst dense forests and woodlands, Golden Whistlers can venture into lower-altitude areas during the cooler months in search of food. They’re particularly fond of places with plenty of leaf litter, where they forage for insects and spiders.

With their brilliant yellow plumage and unmistakable song, they’re a pretty special little visitor to spot around the property.

Keeping our eyes out for any little golden visitors that might make their way to Myalla 👀
