If you’ve ever wanted to try wheelchair basketball, Her Path to Play is a fantastic opportunity to give it a go in a fun, welcoming and supportive environment. No experience needed, and everything is provided.

On Tuesday 8 September, Katherine Reed our Northern Support Officer, met with Mark Nash, CEO of Basketball Tasmania to discuss the future of wheelchair basketball in Tasmania.

They discussed ParaQuad Tasmania’s current programs, the wheelchair basketball pathway, player classification and opportunities to work together to grow participation, including junior and women’s programs.

Mark utilised the opportunity to get into a wheelchair and experience the game firsthand!

We look forward to continually working with Basketball Tasmania in the future! 🏀

It was wonderful to see women and girls coming together at Moonah Stadium on Saturday for Her Path to Play, come and try wheelchair basketball.

Attendees learnt new skills, share a few laughs and make new connections. 👩‍🦽🏀

A big thank you to everyone who has joined us throughout the series and helped make each session so welcoming and fun! A special shoutout to our coach, Katherine Reed, for sharing her skills, encouragement and lived experience of adaptive sport. 💜

ParaQuad Association of Tasmania Inc. is bringing Her Path to Play Wheelchair Basketball to Devonport, for women and girls (12+, with parent or carer). No experience needed, everything is supplied, including sports wheelchairs 🏀👩‍🦽

It's more than a sport session. It's a chance to connect, build confidence, and be part of a supportive community. Coached by Katherine Reed, drawing on her own lived experience in adaptive sport.

Another fantastic silver medal was won over the weekend by the Victoria Wonders team in the Women's National Wheelchair Basketball League.

Congratulations to the team and wonderful to have representation from fellow Tasmanian's Georgie Gott and Katherine Reed. Well done all! 🏀
