π¨ Gloucester Store Market Report β Thursday, 4 June 2026
Strong competition from a regular panel of buyers resulted in a significantly improved market at Gloucester yesterday, with substantial rises recorded across most categories.
Steers sold to a top of $1,950 and averaged $1,212, with quality backgrounding and feeder cattle attracting strong buyer support.
Heifers also met a much stronger market, topping at $1,550 and averaging $899. Well-bred heifers were particularly sought after.
Cow and calf units sold to a top of $2,500 and averaged $2,111, while cows reached $1,900 and averaged $1,401.

β’ MK Equine sold Angus steers to $1,800 and Angus heifers to $1,550.
β’ Nicola Matthews achieved the sale-topping steer price of $1,950 for a milk-tooth steer, while Hereford cows sold to $1,875.
β’ Greg Leach achieved the top cow and calf price of $2,500 for quality Angus units.
β’ IW & KE Irwin sold Murray Grey steers to $1,700 and Angus heifers to $1,450.
β’ Double B Agriculture sold Angus steers to $1,540 and Angus heifers to $900.
Overall, the market showed a massive improvement across the board, with strong competition evident throughout the sale for quality, well-bred cattle. Figures quoted include all agents operating on the day.
