Watch this shop transform. An empty tenancy in Coorparoo, now Dawg Boys: hot dogs, burgers, wings and beers.

The street front went from hoarding and bare walls to black cladding, a red steel portal frame over the outdoor tables and an illuminated Dawg Boys roundel. Inside, the dining room got a slat ceiling, a red feature wall with lit niches and a polished concrete floor.

14 weeks from start to open for trade.

Back to the frame, and back in time. This Brassall bathroom was stripped to the studs and rebuilt in a heritage style that suits the house.

What went in:
- Black wall tiles with patterned black-and-white floor tiles
- A freestanding black bathtub
- A pedestal basin
- Timber-framed door and window kept as features
- A white VJ panelled ceiling

Classic character on the surface, modern waterproofing and plumbing behind it.

No shower screen and no hob to step over. This Chambers Flat ensuite went from tired blue tiles to one open wet room.

We took it back to the studs: full demolition, plumbing reconfigured, new wall framing and substrate. Then we graded the floor to a central waste so the shower drains properly without a screen.

The details:
- Full-height terrazzo-look porcelain on walls and floors
- Built-in bath set into a tiled hob, with a recessed niche
- Tiled in-wall ledges for extra storage
- Timber vanity, white integrated basin and a large frameless mirror
- Waterproofing upgraded to Australian Standards
