Last Friday, our team got together at Q-Masters for an afternoon of pool, plenty of laughs and some friendly competition.

Congratulations to Craig and Jeremy who took out the win on the day!

Creating opportunities for our people to connect, unwind and enjoy time together is a big part of our culture at Bennett + Bennett and this was a great afternoon spent outside the office.

Today is a reminder that asking “Are you OK?” can be a simple but important way to let someone know they’re not alone.

Across Bennett + Bennett, our teams came together for a morning tea today, creating a space to connect, check in and encourage open conversations.

You never know what someone might be going through behind the scenes. Taking the time to genuinely ask, listen and keep the conversation going can make a difference.

And while today is a great reminder to check in, looking out for each other shouldn’t be limited to one day a year. Make asking, listening and checking in part of everyday life - with your colleagues, friends, family and the people around you.

Ask. Listen. Check in. Today and every day.

At Bennett + Bennett, Deliver Excellence & Drive Impact is one of our Ways of Working, guiding how we approach our work and the value we strive to create for our clients, communities and each other.

We recently sat down with Josh Sinclair, Murphy Cottrell, Claire Snelling and Rod Cox to hear what this Way of Working means to them, how they bring it to life in their roles, and what delivering excellence and driving impact looks like in practice.

Our Ways of Working are more than words - they shape the way we work, the standards we set and the difference we aim to make every day.

At Bennett + Bennett, we’re proud to celebrate the achievements of our people - both in and outside of the workplace.

Recently, Liam Thierens and Ben Millen took on two incredible ultra-endurance challenges, pushing themselves to the absolute limit and achieving outstanding results.

Liam Thierens – UTMB, France
Liam took on the iconic UTMB (Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc), a 174 km trail race through France, Italy and Switzerland, with a gruelling 10,000 metres of elevation gain. Starting and finishing in Chamonix, the race attracted 2,407 starters, with around 30% not making it to the finish.
Liam crossed the line in 25 hours and 43 minutes - an incredible achievement at one of the world's premier trail ultramarathons.

Ben Millen – Scenic Rim Ultra Marathon 100 Miler
Closer to home, Ben tackled the Scenic Rim Ultra Marathon 100 Miler - a massive 162 km of running through the Scenic Rim.
Ben finished 2nd overall in an outstanding 23 hours, 8 minutes and 2 seconds.

Congratulations Liam and Ben - what an incredible achievement!

Bringing the property industry together for a great cause.

Christina and Jeremy recently attended the 2026 Property Industry Foundation Queensland Trivia Night, joining professionals from across the property and built environment industry for an evening of connection, conversation and a little friendly competition.

The night also sparked some important conversations around the future of Brisbane, building a city that works for everyone, and the role our industry can play in addressing homelessness and creating safe, stable housing for young Queenslanders.

As a Supporting Partner, we’re proud to be part of an industry that continues to come together to make a meaningful difference in the communities we help shape.

Thank you to Covey, Base Architecture and Shannon Clark Tuhtan for joining us on the night.

Brisbane is taking another step towards enabling more diverse housing outcomes. From 18 September, Brisbane City Council’s More Homes Sooner amendments to the Low-Medium Density Residential (LMR) and Low Density Residential (LDR) zones will take effect.

In summary, the amendments to the Low Medium Density Residential Zone are:

• 3 storeys across the board (except for very rare cases Council has left LMR2)
• 4 storeys in key location areas
• Smaller house lots
• 3 storey houses allowed
• Plus an expanded catchment of 300m for extra small lots in the Low Density Residential Zone near centres

The timely delivery of these amendments by Council is a positive outcome for the industry. While there will be continued discussion about how Brisbane accommodates future housing demand, these reforms are a positive step towards greater housing diversity.

If you're assessing a development opportunity or want to understand how these reforms may impact your project, our team is here to help.

Cunninghams Gap reconstruction complete! A two-kilometre section of the Cunningham Highway at Cunninghams Gap has reopened following significant bushfire damage, marking the completion of one of Queensland’s most complex road reconstruction projects.

Bennett + Bennett was engaged by Transport and Main Roads Queensland to undertake extensive pre-design survey investigations across the challenging terrain, capturing the road surface, hanging cliffs and range base to support the future upgrade design. Over five weeks, our team combined LiDAR, photogrammetry, terrestrial and mobile laser scanning, and RPAS technology to develop a detailed ground feature model, 3D point cloud, digital elevation model and textured mesh.

The project was recognised with a Queensland SSSI Surveying Award in 2021, recognising the innovation and technical complexity of the survey work delivered in this challenging environment.

It’s great to see the completed reconstruction now open and this critical freight route restored for the community and industry.
