A Mexican 🇲🇽 back story worth sharing.

Puerto Escondido is widely regarded as the heaviest beach-break in the world, it thoroughly deserves it name “ The Mexican Pipeline “ and can be a glorified close out, so you have to be quite selective and calculated in your approach.

After spending 3.5 weeks here in 1997, it was awesome to rekindle the love affair 29 years later.

This day was a solid 6 foot with some 8 foot sets, but anyone that surfs knows that the biggest wave isn’t always the best no matter the location.

Initially I thought I was too far out for this wave, as it had a nice double up on it and I only decided to commit at the very last second.

Some of the local boys and travelling surfers in the water claimed it “ Wave of the Day “ which was satisfying.

Every surf on this trip I said to my mate .glen that I just wanted one memorable wave a day. As a young grommet you’re energised paddling around and trying to get every good wave in a session, as you get older I’ve found that we are way more content with quality over quantity.

The phrase “ Less is More “ is a great perspective and a mature way of thinking.

Thank you to Mother Nature for sending me this gift, it was the best blow out and fire hose exit I’ve ever had on my backhand and it will be ingrained in my memory forever.
