Dry to the touch doesn't always mean dry inside.
A wall can feel dry on the surface while moisture is still sitting in the plasterboard, framing or cavity behind it. A fan moves air, but drying involves more than airflow.
- Air movers push air across wet surfaces to help moisture leave the material
- Dehumidifiers remove moisture from the air so it can keep absorbing more
- Humidity control matters, because drying slows when the surrounding air is already damp
- Equipment selection depends on the materials affected and the conditions in the room
- Moisture readings taken over time show whether drying is actually progressing
Every situation is different, so drying time can't be promised up front. Verification readings are what tell you when conditions are where they should be.
