Bathroom reno in Carrara ⚡🛁

This one came together beautifully. We wired in LED strip lighting through the shower niche for a soft glow, a silent exhaust fan, installed a heated towel rail from Meir, put the downlights on a dimmer so the mood shifts from bright morning prep to a relaxing evening soak.

Installed two exhaust fans in a Surfers Paradise home — one in the bathroom and one in the adjacent bedroom — after mould had started forming on the bedroom wall due to poor ventilation and trapped moisture. Bathroom humidity was migrating through to the neighbouring room with nowhere to escape, creating the perfect conditions for mould growth.

Fitted both fans to properly extract moist air at the source, improving airflow through the whole area and helping prevent the mould from coming back. A simple but effective fix for a common issue in coastal homes where humidity levels run high year-round.

Corrosion like this weakens the blade mounting and can cause it to detach mid-spin — a genuine safety risk, especially in bathrooms and laundries near the coast. Replaced this one in Currumbin Waters today. Salt air speeds this up more than people realise. Get yours inspected if it’s rattling or rusting.
