The Fairfield Traffic Committee just met, and some major shake-ups are officially locked in—while others are heading to community consultation. I’ve gone through the papers so you don’t have to. No franchise spin, just the street-by-street facts. 👇

Here is what’s coming to our roads:

👉 CANLEY VALE PARKING SHAKE-UP (APPROVED):
Despite 11 formal objections from residents and local businesses, new 2-hour (2P) parking restrictions are officially coming to Phelps Street and the southern side of Pevensey Street (8:30 AM – 6:00 PM weekdays, and Saturday mornings).
The compromise? The northern side of Pevensey will stay unrestricted. Is this a fair deal for multi-car households, or is it pushing the problem further down the street?

👉 FAIRFIELD HEIGHTS PEAK-HOUR BANS (PROPOSED):
Council is looking to ban parking on The Boulevarde near Stanbrook St (near Woolworths) during peak hours (8:00–9:30 AM and 4:00–6:00 PM weekdays) to stop the massive bottlenecks. This will wipe out 5 parking spots. They are opening this up for consultation soon—make sure you have your say!

👉 BOTTLENECK ALERTS:
Urgent investigations have been triggered for peak-hour gridlock on The Horsley Drive (Smithfield) near Justin St, and Cowpasture Rd/Edensor Rd (Abbotsbury).
