🎉🎉We're a day early and didn't want to upstage the race that stops a nation, but we're celebrating an amazing milestone at JJRE today.
Early in the morning on the 1st of November 1982, Marie McMenemy had her Mum drive to 4 Dunellan Street, Greenslopes for a job interview at the local real estate office.
We are reliably informed a typing test formed part of the interview. Fortunately, there were a few sales contracts waiting to be prepared. Marie was left in front of the Olivetti and made short work of the task.
Two and a half hours (and a lot more typing) later, the "interview" was concluded and Marie had the job. (Thanks to Mum for waiting in the car!)
The records don't show whether the day was officially recorded in the time book, but 40 YEARS LATER, we're saying thank you and congratulations to Marie McMenemy for her immeasurable contribution to the success and longevity of Jeff Jones Real Estate. We couldn't have done it without you!
