Sad day on the farm with the passing of Buddy 💔 Old age finally caught up with you at the age of 13.

You were one of a kind, such a gentle giant, living a dog’s dream of a life 🥲

Roaming free on the farm, you welcomed literally hundreds of people and pets who came to stay with us at The Ridge and The Grove.

If you saw a vehicle drive past home suspiciously and slowly, you’d sit out the front and watch to see if they went to one of the holiday houses… then later you’d wander over, say hello to them for 5 minutes or so, mark your territory 😅 and head back home.

The sound of a basketball bouncing would automatically trigger you to go and play 😅

You were the best companion someone could ever ask for. Missing you already. We’ll never forget you, Buddy. 💔🐾

All ceilings are now up at The Grove🙌. Few more big jobs to do over the next month. New roof, new carpet, new fencing (pet-friendly) and when everything is smick, list on Airbnb and Riparide 😎

The sun has finally come out ☀️ and it looks like everyone is starting to think about holidays!

I’ve had quite a few bookings come through over the last couple of days, so if you’re thinking about a getaway at The Ridge or The Grove this year, now’s the time to lock it in before your preferred dates disappear.

A few little updates:
✅ I’ve now got an awesome cleaner helping with quick changeovers.

✅ And… I finally bought a clothes dryer for The Ridge! Only about 3 months later than I should have… 😩😂

Top 1% of Airbnb homes 🏆 🍾 🥳

Still a bit surreal seeing this.

When I started putting The Ridge together, the goal was simple — create a quiet, comfortable place where people could get away, slow down, and enjoy a bit of country life in Gunbower. Nothing too fancy, just something genuine that felt good to stay in.

To now see it recognised in the Top 1% of Airbnb homes is honestly pretty unexpected… but also kind of makes sense when we think about the guests who have stayed, left feedback, and supported us along the way.

Have been really lucky with the people who’ve come through — respectful, kind, and appreciative of the space. That’s what makes a place like this work.

So this one’s really just a thank you.

To everyone who has booked a stay, recommended us, left a review, or shared kind words — we genuinely appreciate it more than you know.

CASUAL CLEANER WANTED

The Ridge Gunbower currently maintains excellent guest ratings and looking to keep it that way. Giving guests a 5 star experience.
I’m looking for someone to help me keep it that way.
As I juggle full-time work alongside managing the property, keeping up with changeovers is becoming increasingly difficult, so I’m seeking a reliable casual cleaner to assist between guest stays.

Typical hours: 10:30am – 2:00pm (changeover window)
$150 per changeover (approximately 3.5 hours)
All cleaning products and equipment supplied. But you can bring your own if preferred.

Couple of change overs dates coming up:
Sunday 5th July
Wednesday 8th July.
If available these dates, please apply

Duties include:
• General cleaning of house and outdoor areas
• Making beds and changing linen
• Cleaning bathrooms and kitchen
• Vacuuming and mopping floors
• Checking property presentation before guest arrival

What I’m looking for:
• Attention to detail
• Reliable and trustworthy
• Flexible availability, including some weekends and public holidays
• Previous cleaning experience preferred but not essential

Ideal for: Local residents looking for casual work and flexible hours. Most common times for quick change overs will be during school holidays.

A big chunk of our guests love their fishing. I’ll admit, I’m not the best for local fishing tips 😅 — I usually just hear about what’s been caught from the keen fisherman at work.

Anyway… one of our previous guests has a YouTube channel. Check out this video and have a look at his other videos fishing Gunbower Creek and other spots around Northern Victoria. He landed some absolute beauties at the start of last cod season.
