This is why we recommend inspections at key stages throughout your build. 🏗️
These photos are from a brand-new home where the builder considered the property ready for handover. However, clear and obvious issues were still present.
You’re not expected to know every detail of the building process — that’s our job. But a lack of building knowledge should never be used as an excuse to hand over the keys before issues are properly finished and resolved.
The photos below highlight just some of the concerns we identified 👇
• 1 & 2 – Incorrectly positioned fixtures, with plastering and painting left incomplete.
• 3 – Rangehood installation incomplete, with missing filters, ducting, and power not connected.
• 4 – Missing light switch covers and switches.
• 5 – Brickwork installed incorrectly, with missing and deteriorating mortar.
• 6 – Protruding timber obstructing the manhole, making access difficult.
• 7 – Cladding battens extending into the soil, creating conditions conducive to termite entry.
• 8 – Newly installed skirting damaged prior to painting, with defects painted over instead of being rectified.
