As universally expected, the RBA made the decision to raise the cash rate at their June meeting, however the 50 basis point hike was larger than expected. The latest move takes the overnight cash rate to 0.85%.

With underlying inflation moving sharply higher to be up 3.5% over the year, the RBA’s heavy lifting on the cash rate still has some way to go, with interest rates likely to consistently rise through the second half of the year and into 2023.

⭐️ Take time to learn the stories of the Stolen Generations -
The horrific stories of how children were torn from their rightful native families and forced into unfamiliar and unknown life situations - all occurring whilst trying to maintain schooling, traditions and family dynamics of colonist-descended white Australians. Read a few of these stories; take the time to educate yourself and others whilst sharing the victims’ pain.

⭐️ Locate and celebrate Aboriginal achievements -
Those of Aboriginal descent have proceeded to make incredible contributions to Australia as a whole, but particularly in the fields of law, medicine and entertainment. We encourage you to research some of these achievements, educate about them, and bask in the richness of their culture.

⭐️ Think about what Reconciliation really means -
