Fancy a weekend away with your knitting or crochet group in the beautiful Snowy Mountains?

At the Bellevue park opening day you can go behind the scenes and see sheep being shorn and follow the wool through the process of being dyed and spun and there is plenty of home grown wool available for purchase.

The hens have been sacked.
As much as they love being mums and are always going broody- we have had no end of trouble with them: forgetting which eggs they were sitting on and being able to keep the eggs warm enough in this crazy weather to hatch properly, so I’ve out-sourced the hatching this year.
I can hear little pips today, which is a little exciting, hoping to see them hatch tomorrow.
I put 14 eggs in the incubator;
half way through at day 10ish, I put a torch up to them and 4 were clear and unfertilised and 3 had been fertilised but stopped growing, so they were discarded. The remaining 7 will hopefully hatch tomorrow. We often have a 50:50 split of hens and roosters- I’m really hoping these won’t be all roosters.
Speaking of which we have 3 roosters looking for a new home if anyone is interested.

(For those with keen eyes - yes the water and feed bottles are upside down- they will be flipped when there are inhabitants.)

We’ve got bulbs springing up everywhere- looks like I will need to hold off on mowing for a while. I just could not bring myself to run these guys down.

Today’s blossom is from the Apricot tree. With the mild winter we had this year, I’m really hoping for some fruit this year.
