Recently, Litsa presented to property developers from the Property Developer Network SA, sharing an educational session on the five critical stages of construction and the inspection points we recommend throughout the build process.

The presentation focused on why these inspection stages matter, what experienced inspectors are looking for at each point, and how identifying issues early can help protect projects, timelines, and long-term outcomes.

Opportunities like this are incredibly valuable, not only for sharing industry knowledge, but for continuing conversations around quality, accountability, and best practice across the construction and property sectors.

A big thank you to the Property Developer Network SA for the opportunity to be involved.

Behind every finished build are dozens of decisions, stages, and checks that most people never see.

That’s why staged building and pest inspections are so important. Different phases of construction can reveal different issues, from structural concerns and moisture risks to waterproofing problems and pest vulnerabilities that may not become obvious until much later.

The earlier these things are identified, the easier they are to address before they turn into larger problems down the track.

Experienced inspectors are trained to look beyond what appears complete on the surface and assess the details that contribute to the long-term quality and performance of a property.

Because “looks good” and “is good” are not always the same thing.

Community support is something that has always been important to us at House Inspect Australia and Pest Protect Australia, and being able to support local clubs with strong family and community values makes it even more meaningful.

We’re proud sponsors of West Adelaide SC and love seeing the next generation out there representing the club each week, including one very familiar face from our own family 💙⚽️

Local sport plays such an important role in bringing people together, building confidence, creating friendships, and strengthening community connections, and we’re proud to play a small part in supporting that.

What We Found Friday 🔍

At first glance, it might just look like a small crack in the corner of a slab.

But this is exactly why thorough inspections matter.

Cracking around footings, movement near structural connections and deterioration around anchor points can all be signs that something more is happening beneath the surface. While not every crack points to a major issue, patterns, location and surrounding movement are all things experienced inspectors assess closely.

It’s also a good reminder that areas around the perimeter of a property, especially where moisture, vegetation and ground movement are involved, are important from both a building and pest perspective.

The small details are often where the bigger story starts.

A few different angles from this year’s Ambrose Golf Day ⛳️

The drone footage gave us the chance to step back and take in the full scale of the day and the community support behind it.

For us, events like this are about more than just a day on the course. They are an opportunity to bring people together, strengthen relationships across our industry and wider community, and support causes that make a real impact.

Seeing the event from above is a great reminder of how many people, businesses, and conversations contribute to making something like this possible.

A huge thank you again to everyone who played a part in this year’s event.

A day we’re proud to look back on, and one we’re already excited to build on again next year.

As the cooler weather sets in, certain issues around the home can become much easier to spot.

Moisture, condensation, ventilation concerns, and signs of movement or water ingress often become more noticeable during winter, particularly after rainfall and colder mornings.

While some changes can be seasonal and minor, others may point to underlying issues that are worth identifying early.

That’s why a thorough inspection matters. Experienced inspectors know what to look for, even when the signs seem small at first.

Today, we’re celebrating the mums and mother figures who are part of the House Inspect Australia and Pest Protect Australia team, industry, and wider community.

From balancing family life with busy roles behind the scenes, on site, and across leadership and operations, their contribution is felt every single day.

We also recognise the many mums and mother figures who support the people around them quietly and consistently, often without recognition, through the care, guidance, and support they provide every day.

We know today can carry different emotions and experiences for different people. Whatever Mother’s Day looks like for you, we hope there is an opportunity to reflect on the people who have offered care, strength, encouragement, or support throughout your life, in ways both big and small.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mums and mother figures out there ❤️

Last night, Litsa and Barney attended the City of Charles Sturt Business Recognition Awards at the beautiful Woodville Town Hall.

While we didn’t take home the win, being named finalists among 284 nominees was an incredible honour and something we are extremely proud of.

To be recognised in categories celebrating leadership, workplace culture, customer relationships, and positive impact within the community is something we are genuinely grateful for. These awards shine a light on the businesses and individuals helping shape the future of business across the western suburbs, and it was a privilege to be part of such a special evening.

A big thank you to for hosting such a wonderful event, and congratulations to all of the winners, especially Charlie Sykes of , recipient of the Women in the West Award, and , winners of the Best Small Business Award.

We’re incredibly grateful to have been recognised alongside so many outstanding local businesses and leaders.
