Looking forward to spring at The Salty Dog Hotel !

The customer journey at Salty Dog is intentionally legible, with users drawn intuitively through a world of rhythm, colour and playful abundance.

Arches and curved forms reinforce this rhythm, referencing Palm Springs modernism while connecting back to a broader coastal language embedded throughout the venue.

We've enjoyed working with Francis Burne on the designs, with Batchelor Construction Group Pty Ltd fabricating the units in their yard in Kingston.

Building costs over the last couple of years have been steadily rising... It's hard to be sure if the current costs are just the "new normal" or how much the market might equalise as the post-COVID boom settles and rising interest rates start to impact project viability.

An interesting writeup at Lunchbox Architect - note the reference to Melbourne 2022 - Hobart prices unfortunately aren't that much cheaper...
