🦁🩷 Wear Pink for Masa🩷 🦁
This weekend we say goodbye to our NPL goalkeeper Masatoshi Kawano, who has been part of the Lions family since November 2023.
Masa has been a huge part of our club over the past two seasons, not only guarding the net in the NPL, but also giving back as a GK coach, inspiring and mentoring our next generation of goalkeepers. His passion and generosity of spirit have left a lasting mark on our community.
Some of his highlights with us include:
⚽ Playing in the unforgettable 2024 Cup Final
🪑 Working side by side with WSL, NPL, youth players, and volunteers on the Lightwood Park stadium seating project
🧤 Coaching and encouraging our youth GKs with dedication and kindness
Sadly, circumstances outside his control mean this Saturday will be Masa’s final match wearing the Lions blue and black (technically pink). While he now heads to Melbourne to continue his football journey and pursue permanent residency, his contribution to KLUFC will not be forgotten.
Masa, thank you for your commitment, leadership, and heart. You will always be part of the Pride, and we wish you all the very best for the future.
