Meet Sir William…
A few days ago, we found three dumped roosters on our property. I managed to catch the bigger two and get them to a local produce store that will find them a new home.

I really liked the look of this little guy, but he took a liking to our biggest hen and she didn’t like him, so I wasn’t sure we’d be able to keep him. But everything has settled down, so looks like we now own a rooster!

We were so lucky to meet the QPWS Ranger that looks after the dingoes here on K’Gari. There are just over 300 dingoes on the island and just over 100 are tagged.

Day one on and we visited Lake Wabby. Hammerstone Sandstone is a massive sand dune that is slowly encroaching on the lake. The dune will eventually swallow the lake in many years. Pretty impressive though!

Tucked away just outside Fernvale, this Hipcamp spot was the perfect quiet escape. We camped right by the river, tried to fish (unsuccessfully) after Tank fell in!

Plenty of space, super peaceful, and the river was amazing to chill by.

If you’re after a private, no-fuss campsite surrounded by nature, this one’s worth bookmarking.

Thanks to the support of .council EnviroGrant, and the incredible work by Rach and her team from , part of our property has had a major glow-up!

Clearing the lantana and other invasive weeds has encouraged native regrowth – so much that we didn’t even need to plant new natives! 🌱🦋

Big thanks to everyone involved for making such a positive impact! 💚
